Sexual-health resources across Asia
Where to get STI testing, PrEP access patterns, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) within the 72-hour window, and condom availability — country by country. Public- health-clinic categories named where they exist as institutional reference points; no individual private clinics are listed because they open and close faster than this page can track.
The 72-hour rule
Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is a 28-day antiretroviral regimen that must be started within 72 hours of HIV exposure to be effective. Sooner is significantly better: within 24 hours is the meaningful threshold for efficacy data. PEP is available across every country on this site at major hospital emergency departments, and at the regional-reference public STI clinics in Thailand (Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic, Bangkok), Singapore (DSC Clinic), and Hong Kong (Social Hygiene clinics). If you suspect exposure, go now; do not wait until morning.
PrEP regional snapshot
Pre-exposure prophylaxis access for non-citizens varies sharply across the region. Thailand is the most accessible: the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic in Bangkok provides foreigner-friendly walk-in access at low cost. Taiwan runs a national CDC PrEP programme since 2018 with high uptake. Singapore and Hong Kong have established programmes at unsubsidised rates for non-residents. Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Philippines have programmes but visitor access is more limited. Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia have programmes oriented primarily toward at-risk populations rather than visitors.
